Micronations is incredibly excited to present another installment of The Decline of Modern Civilisation, in the super-fresh and super-awesome surroundings of new DIY/BYO/etc space The Waiting Room (formerly Browning Street Studios). This edition of The Decline of Modern Civilisation is one that you’re unlikely to see again, with booming beats, punk rocking blasts and potty-mouthed titters from a quartet of acts at weird and wild stages of their musical lives.

Molliger: First Brisbane show from this rowdy BFF electro-punk duo in over five years, and the first anywhere in over three years. This is a definite one-off. It’ll be fun, with loud voices, swearing, buzzcut guitars, stuttery beats, and maybe some pigeon-like dancing. Woop, woop woop woop woop, woop woop woop woop indeed.

The Fancy Boys: Another rare Brisbane appearance, from the classic trio line-up of this Depardieu-core / Asterix-wave / post-baguette French punk rock band. After being marooned in Brisbane for several years, begging at the gates of the local Alliance Francaise, they won back their freedom and returned to the motherland. For reasons unknown (paternity suits, the abolition of the 35 hour work week, a lingering resentment of the Euro, who knows?), The Fancy Boys are re-gathering for a set of frenetic, romantic and all-round exciting punk-pop tunes.

Collapsicon: A longtime Micronations favourite, Collapsicon (aka Luke Ilett) creates a stunning fusion of electro, hip-hop, Dub and chipmusic, collapsicon transports dance floors to ephemeral dimensions from the outer regions of what we know to be reality. Collapsicon is currently based on the Sunshine Coast, meaning his all too rare Brisbane performances have become even more prized. A definite recommendation.

Luke Boerdam and The Sweet Amazings: Luke Boerdam and The Sweet Amazings are pretty mysterious, except that they are indeed pretty sweet and amazing, and contain a gentleman going by the name of Luke Boerdam. Longtime pals, heavy as hell, and fortunately the stars have aligned at just the right time for the band to be making their The Decline of Modern Civilisation debut. For those junior Agatha Christies amongst you, keep your ears out for a set of all new songs by this mysterious quartet.

Dick Nasty: Longstanding Brisbane punk rock legends. Short, fast, funny, heavy, loud – everything you’d want in a band live! If those Queensland Music Awards had a prize for best song titles, Dick Nasty would win in a heartbeat. Just shows that the priorities of the industry are way, way off track.
